The Council

Meet the people working behind the scenes to ensure The Lighthouse Club (Singapore) meets its goals and is able to be a force for good in the construction industry

A Community of Volunteers

The Lighthouse Club (Singapore) is a fellowship of Singaporean construction industry professionals who are driven by a spirit of volunteerism and a need to give back to the industry while forming close bonds and friendships with their fellow Lighthouse Club members. Our members hail from all corners of the world and we pride ourselves on being diverse. Many members are new, some members have been with the Club for over a decade, all members are continuously committed to accomplishing the Club's goals.

Lighthouse Club Council (2021-2023)

Jim Chessell

Jim has been a member of Lighthouse Club Singapore for nine years and served on their Council for seven. He has been President of the Club for the last two years. As well as his efforts in Singapore, Jim is also a representative for Lighthouse Club International and helps to promote the association by being involved in Membership activities which will continue to grow the Club across the globe.

Jim is the General Manager and Director of BKAsiaPacific, a regional based construction consultancy practice, specialising in quantity surveying, dispute resolution and commercial and contract advice.

Nuala McGlynn

Nuala is a Civil Engineer and active member of the Lighthouse Club Committee for the last 7 years.

Currently she is a Bid Manager with McConnell Dowell working in the New Business Sector for South East Asia.  Nuala first moved to Singapore to work at the redevelopment of the Singapore National Stadium after a successful project management career in the UK which involved working at the London 2012 Olympics Site.

Khanh Nguyen

Khanh is a civil / geotechnical engineer. She was born in Vietnam, educated in the US and has worked on projects all over the APAC region. Before moving to Singapore in 2019, she was based in Hong Kong where she was also active in the Lighthouse Club Young Members Group.

She is currently a Senior Engineer with AECOM Singapore Ltd working on transportation and infrastructure projects and brings with her a wealth of international experience to Singapore’s fast paced and dynamic construction industry. When Khanh is not chasing the Council Members around with her action list, she enjoys dragon-boating with La Armada Dragon Boat Team, taking her baby to the pool and having chicken rice at the neighbourhood’s hawker centre.

Thomas Goh

Punitha Govindasamy

Punitha has been member of the Lighthouse Club since 2002 as a Council member, Events officer, President (2007 to 2010) and came back to join as Publicity officer in 2020.

Born and raised in Singapore, she has been involved in the construction industry since 1994 as editor of Southeast Asia Construction, then as Marketing Manager at Manitowoc Cranes and is currently Senior marketing Manager at Lintec & Linnhoff in Singapore. Other interests include hockey and karaoke.

Chris Rudland

Chris is a Director at FTI Consulting and a Chartered Quantity Surveyor. He is a relatively new member of the Lighthouse Club and was instantly taken by the positive energy within the Club and the vision to help those who really need it.

Although Chris has lived and worked in Singapore for 8 years, it has been his second home for over 30. He has 4 young children who add a lot of fun and energy to his home life and who act as a constant reminder that not everyone is as fortunate and that we should all be doing more to help those around us on a daily basis. Chris fully intends to remain involved with the Lighthouse Club long beyond his 2-year tenure as Treasurer and to work with the Council to grow the membership and reach of the club over the coming years and decades.

Karthini Mahendranathan

Karthini was an active member of the Lighthouse Club in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for years before relocating to Singapore in 2020 and joining the Lighthouse Club Committee here. She is part of the in-house legal team in Marina Bay Sands overseeing the expansion plan of the integrated resort, which includes the refurbishment of the three towers and the construction of a fourth.

In her free time, she enjoys playing sports and is presently into dragonboat, netball and poker (surely that counts as a sport, especially in nations under lockdown). She is also very proud of her ability to perform one magic trick to perfection (few council members who were lucky enough to witness it can testify to this).

Sean Hardy

Sean is currently the Welfare Officer on the Lighthouse Club Singapore Council and is in charge of identifying individuals and families in need and managing financial assistance from the Lighthouse Club’s benevolent fund.

He is a lawyer with Pinsent Masons MPillay where he advises on infrastructure, energy and construction projects, with a particular focus on international arbitration and advising on risk management during project delivery

Aditya Karkera

Aditya serves on the LHC Council supporting Membership, Publicity, and other portfolios.

A recent graduate of Yale-NUS College, where he studied mathematics and dabbled in economics and philosophy, Aditya was born in India and raised in the Middle East before moving to Singapore for his university education. Presently, he works with Ocelot—a strategy consultancy for the built environment. Having lived his entire life as an immigrant, and especially as an Indian in the Middle East, he is enthusiastic about working with LHC Singapore in advancing its work for migrant workers in Singapore.

Reuben Reeves

Reuben comes to Singapore with Sika, a global Leader in construction products, to advance the concept of high-level early engagement with Owners, Designers, Specifiers and Contractors for local and international Projects across the Asia Pacific Region. Having lived Construction for +25 Years, he is passionate about the importance of savvy connections and provides a crucial link to cross border support.

Leisure time includes, walks, swimming, exploring Singapore and enjoying pleasant café brunches with the Family.

Neil O'Meara

Neil is a Council Member since March 2021. He is Regional Manager for Tenders & Estimating at McConnell Dowell. Neil also serves as Membership Secretary for Lighthouse Club International.
