Autumn Cocktail Reception at the British High Commissioner, H.E Scott Wightman’s residence, Eden Hall on 24 October 2017
We were delighted to have the chance to host an Autumn Cocktail Reception promoting the Club at the British High Commissioner, H.E Scott Wightman’s residence, Eden Hall on 24 October 2017.
The event was sponsored by construction advisory and disputes law firm, Pinsent Masons and attended by over 100 current and future members of the Club and construction and engineering industry peers from Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong. The evening would not have been possible without the support of Pinsent Masons and the British Chamber of Commerce to whom we are extremely grateful.
Special thanks to Scott Whightman from the British High Commission for the superb hospitality and hosting the event at his home, Eden Hall.
From H.E Scott Wightman “It was a great pleasure to welcome the Lighthouse Club in Singapore to Eden Hall. Its development in Asia over the last 30 years has been impressive and its work to raise safety standards in the industry is truly impressive.”

The Singapore Indian Development Association (SINDA) is a self-help group that works to uplift the Singapore Indian Community. SINDA’s key thrusts are in Education, Family Services and Active Collaboration. SINDA was formed in August 1991 to address the pressing educational and socio-economic issues facing the community. SINDA was formed to raise the academic level of Indian students. In addition to that primary objective, SINDA also offers a range of programmes and services to help families who approach SINDA for various forms of assistance. SINDA assist with the social and economic development of individuals. Youths too benefit from SINDA programmes that are aimed at mentoring and equipping them with leadership skills.
On 20 July 2016, SINDA invites representative of Lighthouse Club (Singapore) to attend Annual Donner Appreciation Lunch at Holiday Inn Singapore. Lighthouse Club (Singapore), signed a memorandum of three year to donate S$10,000.00 every year beginning from calendar year 2015 for their education fund. Lighthouse Club (Singapore) has already paid the donation amount S$20,000 for the calendar year 2015 and 2016. Guest of Honour of the event was Mr Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for Economic and Social Policies. Mr Tharman Shanmugaratnam is also Chairman of SINDA Board of Trustees.
SINDA organised this Donner Appreciation Lunch Event every year. This year Lighthouse Club (Singapore) was represented by our Vice President, Mr Vineet Shrivastava.
Our March 2016 get-together was held on Thursday 10th March at Muddy Murphy’s, Somerset.
The night’s theme was 50 Shades of Green, because we were celebrating St Patrick’s night!
Like last year, the event was a success with a turn up of 66 people and pretty good donations through the green gadgets, the raffles tickets, and the infamous bucket!
Raffle’s winners seemed extremely happy, as you will see on the photos below.
This Get-Together was sponsored courtesy of SmartBuild Asia‘s Co-Founders.
Please remember that 15% of all subscriptions to SmartBuild Asia by LHC Members (and their friends) will be donated to Lighthouse Club!
