2007 Annual Dinner
The 2007 Annual Dinner was a phenomenal success. Held at the Churchhill Room of the prestigious Tanglin Club once more, we raised $14,720 from ticket sales, auctions (one of the 'items' which included yours truly) and collections. Of course the sponsors made a huge difference and we would like to thank them for their generous contributions. Willie Kay, Alison Kay and Woo Sek Han put in a huge effort, without whom the event would not have been this successful. Miles Mclean of The Disclaimers put up a grand acoustic and vocal performance and was invited back to the stage when the guests started asking for more. The newly appointed MC for the night Raj Singh did a wonderful job too and we applaud his ability to multi-task what with hosting the event, entertaining his wife and still managing to have his meal. And of course the resident auctioneer Phil Medway could not have done any better as he single-handedly raised over $6,000 that night. The star for the night was George Tan who willingly sacrificed his beautiful mane of hair for our good cause. He was lucky to go back with a stylish bob because there was a conspiracy among some of the guests to scalp him completely but it was a close shave! Thank you all once again for making this so successful!
